Job Title: Compliance Lead (Consumer Financial Services)

3-6 months Contract

Location: Reading Hybrid 2 days per week office based 3 days home based.

As a Financial Services Compliance Lead, you will play a pivotal role providing oversight, guidance, and independent challenge. Your work will be instrumental in delivering our monitoring plan and broader compliance program, ensuring that our financial services products meet the highest regulatory standards.

Job Context
The purpose of this role is to provide independent challenge, oversight and practical guidance to first line business areas with regards to the operation of its financial services products.

The role will sit in 2nd line financial services compliance team, and play a key role in the delivery of the monitoring plan and wider compliance programme. This will include both conducting formal compliance reviews in line with the monitoring plan and involve working with the business to identify financial services-related compliance and conduct risks faced, and provide guidance into the design and implementation of controls.

To successful in this role, you should have demonstrated experience into:

  • Experienced financial services compliance professional with a specialisation in consumer credit. Strong knowledge of CONC, SYSC, and DISP is essential.
  • Consumer credit experience with big 4 audit firms is beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of UK financial services regulation and the ability to explain requirements in practical terms.
  • A strong grasp of regulatory and conduct risk management in financial services.
  • Proficiency in leading formal compliance reviews, report writing, and stakeholder management.
  • Skilled in evaluating policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in drafting compliance policies.
  • Experience in overseeing compliance issue management and remediation activities.
