Job Introduction

We are currently partnering with a leading broadcasting and media organisation. Providing critical services to these world famous industry leaders, we are proud to be an integral part of one of the most renowned broadcasting and media organisation in the world.

You'll be involved in crafting simple and effective solutions to solve business problems within our AWS cloud estate. Our goal is to create automated solutions and/or educate our wider organisation to streamline the process of developing applications for the teams creating our products, focussing on collecting metric data, which enables them to support the team to understand how they deliver software quickly and efficiently and identifies any failure in current process, how often failures happen and use the metrics to enhance their development experience.

You'll be involved in creating automated solutions and educating the wider organisation to streamline the process of software development.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Working experience of either AWS Cloud Administration or Software Engineering in a large scale organisation.
  • Demonstrable technical and analytical experience working across business functions (Development / Product Owners / User Experience).
  • Experience writing and documenting maintainable software within collaborative environments.
  • Competence in Test Driven Development.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire new software skills and to work with new technologies.
  • An appreciation of client output and a passion for technology in the new media environment.
  • Experience releasing software to production including load testing and threat modelling.

Desirable

  • Hold a current AWS certification.
  • Unix or Linux system administration experience.
  • Understanding of implementing Non-functional requirements.
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols, routing and technologies.
  • Ability to present complex solutions effectively to differing technical abilities within both large and small group settings.

Tech stack

We use a wide variety of tools and technologies across our teams, and no one is expected to work with or have experience of, all of them. To give you an idea though:

API's and Back End Services: C# and dotnet 5/core and aspnet on Azure, as well as persistence layers like MongoDB, ServiceBus and Azure Search.

Front End: JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, and NodeJS.

We also create and support reliable and scalable cloud based microservices on Amazon Web Services, use Git for version control, Teamcity and Octopus Deploy and we use lots of Terraform and Powershell.
