Job Description

3rd Line Support Engineer (Wintel/VDI/Windows Server/VMWare/HyperV/Exchange) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 12 months contract (taken in 6 month rolling stints), to be based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, UK.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • The successful applicant will be an experienced 3rd line support engineer with strong Wintel & VDI
  • Extensive 3rd line support & technical wintel experience
  • The successful applicant will be a 3rd Line Wintel & VDI Support Engineer, responsible for providing wintel support of the customer deployable systems across all security domains, where you will maintain and develop a complex solution.
  • The role will primarily involve incident management on the clients' live system, on incidents that have been escalated from 1st/2nd line team.
  • You will have experience in carrying out in-depth documentation reviews
  • Excellent client facing experience
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting technical projects and incident resolution.
  • Creation/review of Low-Level Design's (LLD), build and configuration documentation and Knowledge Based Articles (KBA), as well as providing Knowledge Transfer (KT) to the customer.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2016
  • Active Directory & Group Policy management, design and support
  • Microsoft HyperV virtualization or VMware experience
  • Windows Server technologies such as Skype For Business, Exchange 2012/16.
  • Good understanding of Network Design principles, FireWalls, WAN protocols
  • Security technologies such as McAfee AV / ePolicy Orchestrator
  • PowerShell and other scripting experience
  • Your role will involve incident management and change implementation on the clients' live system.
