Job Description

Are you a Primary trained Teacher or NQT or a student teacher about to receive QTS?

Project People are supporting a primary school based in Cambridge seeking to appoint a Year 1 Teacher from September 2019 on a permanent basis. The school is part of a multi-academy trust, which has recently received successful OfSTED inspection, alongside the school being rated as 'Good' by Ofsted.

The school is a smaller than the average-sized primary school, with the proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium below the national average. The school serves a very mixed community, with pockets of significant deprivation. They have fostered strong relationships with parents and in the local community. A small proportion of pupils attend for short periods of time before being re-housed, so there is significant mobility within classes and year groups.

There is strong, focused and inspirational leadership, with high standards and high aspirations set for pupils behaviour and achievement. There is a determination amongst all staff to provide the best quality education and wide range experiences to all the children. Due to this, pupils achieve well because of the consistent good teaching and therefore have a positive attitude to learning.

You will have the support of a highly committed governing body, who know the school well and challenge the senior leaders robustly. The academy trust also provides broad and high quality support when required.

The successful person will be joining a school that will offer the following:

  • Full classroom responsibility
  • Take responsibility for the pupils progress
  • Plan, prepare and present lessons
  • Maintain positive behaviour management strategies
  • Prepare and mark pupil's work
  • Provide feedback to parents on a pupil's progress
  • Take part in school events and activities when required
  • Full qualified teacher status (QTS)
