Job Description
Unix Systems Administrator
Job Purpose:
- To provide build & operate System Administration capability for Unix & Linux server platforms and associate technologies
- Technical support responsibilities extending to the European Unix/Linux install base
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational, initiative and project based activities
- 24x7 support for Unix and Linux based server technologies in accordance with business SLA requirements
- Unix/Linux system builds (bare metal and virtualized) ensuring server hardening procedures are followed in line with documented process
- Unix/Linux system decommissions ensuring data destruction procedures are followed in line with documented process
Experience Required:
- Commercial Unix/Linux Administration experience gained in an enterprise sized environment
- Demonstrate strong ability to work under pressure with multiple competing priorities
- Good experience within Unix and Linux OS and Hypervisors such as VMWare, OVM, etc
