Travel Booking Agent

Based in Oxfordshire

ASAP Start

Currently seeking talented Travel Booking Agents to join a luxury bespoke travel company based in Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ticketing all published & contracted air
  • Maintain the use of Cat35/25 for ticketing
  • Manage the Ticketing Helpdesk
  • Process complex ticket changes through exchanges and refunds in accordance with fare rules
  • Manage the queues on the GDS communicating clearly to Country Specialists any changes to flights and ticketing deadlines
  • Maintain client records with the data required prior to travel, within the 6 week travel deadline
  • Identify and secure all opportunities to make cost savings on tickets issued
  • Manage the influx of airline contracts to the US and UK ticketing department
  • Communicate any contract changes to the US and UK employees ensuring they are understood and put in to effect & update supporting documents
  • Assist with the planning and training of ticketing processes within the team
  • Able to identify training areas through GDS and ticketing related errors and then include these in training sessions to make time and cost savings in the future. You will draw from experiences with ticketing, queues and back office systems in past roles
  • Book and manage Group Bookings in Galileo and following the airlines individual processes
  • Support the Ticketing Manager in a crisis situation whilst maintaining the day to day workloads and tasks

Person Specification:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • Previous travel industry experience
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Keen to learn and be receptive to continued on-the-job training
  • Good communicator at all levels within a business
  • Flexible and willing to turn hand to any work that needs to be completed
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong team player who is also comfortable working independently
