Job Description

Transport Technical Authority - Network Security - Contract - Berkshire

  • Transport Technical Authority required on a contract basis for a leading Mobile Telecoms service provider to focus on driving security compliance across the access transport network.
  • The post holder will be leading partners and internal teams to deliver security solutions and also manage the resolution of security gaps.
  • Although the delivery focus will be on the security within the domain, the post holder will collaborate across other transformation programmes to ensure data remains secure across the business.

Please note that although this role is working on a mobile operator's network security a background within telecoms is not essential but would be beneficial to the application.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of Network Security annual roadmap
  • Ensuring chapter outcomes and business plan outcomes are achieved.
  • Leading interlocking of technical designs across the partners to achieve a successful delivery of end-to-end Network Security solution
  • Governance of the end to end security frameworks including setting-up appropriate groups at suitable levels to ensure the target levels of security are met.
  • Ensuring implementation of security guidelines across the partners and consistent compliance on an end-to-end basis.
  • Ownership and governance of the end to end security framework's including setting-up appropriate groups at suitable levels to ensure the target levels of security are met.
  • Working closely with the information security and risk functions and ensuring required controls are applied in the network designs.
  • Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • The planning horizon for this role is 12 months

Relevant capabilities/experience:

  • Network Security Expertise
  • CISSP or CISM
  • Information Security Awareness
  • Security Audit & Compliance
  • Technical assurance of third party design and delivery
  • Demonstrable experience in leading virtual teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • Proven capability to interface, influence and negotiate with third party managed service partners.
  • Will be passionate about the use of data and insight to make informed decisions, solve problems and input to operational and strategic plans. Can demonstrate the ability to gather, analyse and present information in business terms for management and leadership consumption.
  • Experience of defining processes and implementing security frameworks/policies within a telecoms service provider.
  • Experience of managing the delivery of network security roadmap to budget in a multi-partner, virtual team environment.
  • Expertise in technical security controls - eg. Firewall systems, IDAM/PAM, logging for security, system hardening, vulnerability management, patching, etc
  • Good understanding of NFV, SDN and automation technologies.
  • Good understanding of Network Applications including Radio and Core networks (EPC and IMS), Messaging, Security and IP services.
  • An effective communicator and presenter, with the ability to build relationships at all levels across the business.
