SQL Database Administrator

A SQL Database Administrator is required by a luxury travel brand.

The Database Administrator will work within the technology team and carry out a review of existing MS SQL servers and implement a best practice approach across the organisation in managing databases.

The SQL DBA will work closely with internal teams to develop an effective database strategy, monitor performance and suggest measures to provide fast query responses. This will include reviewing the test, development and production SQL environments and working with developers to analyse and resolve database performance issues.

Candidates will have experience in multi-site setup for SQL and have extensive knowledge of SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012) and ideally SQL server 2014. You will have experience of performance tuning and optimising SQL server installations including TSQL, stored procedures, indexing, end to end architecture is essential. Knowledge of database management tasks (e.g. backup, recovery, cloning, installation, and replication).

Candidates will have excellent communication skills, an analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to deliver under pressure and tight timescales.
