Senior Test Engineer - Intelligent Networks

Requirements:

Good network knowledge for voice calls - how calls route

o Knowledge of MSC, HLR, general network environment.

o What point codes are, GT routing.

Wireshark knowledge or another network protocol analyser essential

o ISUP, BICC for voice calls

o CAMEL to trace IN call routing

o SIP for IMS

o Gsm_map/gsm_sms for location updates if having to trace issues

• Previous use of HP ALM - Quality centre, which we use to record results, raise defects etc.
• Writing test cases - often we use previous test case lists but for new phases we write or certainly expand test case list.

Test all sim types:

• PAYM, PAYG, IMS,
• During a test phase we have to test either a variety or all networks, Ericsson Core , NSN , VOLTE and VOWiFi
• We have to take traces during test phases,

o Always of test calls on Wireshark (network protocol analyser),

o IN counters are taken (unix based),

o For PAYG we also check CDR's

o Sometimes we check MSC CDR's - provide these once we give timestamps

• We support IT with their testing, sometimes just checking CDR's with them, or making calls for them. They provide test case list and we execute
