Job Description

Are you a Senior Project Manager looking for your next role? My Berkshire based client is seeking a SPM to set up and manage multiple end-to-end business projects simultaneously, ensuring that the benefits and outcomes of the projects are defined and delivered whilst effectively controlling scope, dependencies, risks and issues. You will enable the projects to be delivered to time, cost and quality.

You Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that business outcomes for projects are defined, approved, and delivered. Ensure that the business case is created and approved. Be responsible for the benefits realisation plan, and ensure that benefits are delivered in the best way possible.
  • Lead the project teams: build matrix teams of people from across the business required to achieve the outcomes; lead, motivate and manage the team through the lifecycle of the project
  • Build and manage the end-to-end project plan, and monitor/report progress. Effectively manage scope and dependencies. Identify risks and issues and proactively resolve/mitigate them. Ensure that the project is delivered to time, cost and quality
  • Put in place strong governance for projects, aligned with the overall governance processes and ensure that timely decisions are taken. Communicate regularly and effectively with project stakeholders
  • Ensure that the transition of projects into 'business as usual' is managed highly effectively, minimising disruption to customers and employees and aligned to operational plans and resourcing. Ensure training/communication needs as part of this transition are identified and put in place in a timely manner
  • Provide ad hoc coaching/mentoring/support as required to Project Managers as part of their career development

Your Skills:

  • Significant proven and demonstrable ability in delivering major business projects (£1m+).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to lead and manage matrixed project teams of high-performing, highly engaged employees
  • Highly customer-focused approach
  • Proven track record of building and managing excellent business-wide relationships at all levels or an organisation
  • Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince2, APMP)
  • Experience of working in companies that use release management or similar formal change methodologies
  • Experience in a commensurate role within a similar fasted paced, consumer focused, technology led industry e.g. Telecoms, Technology, Retail, Financial Services
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and articulate, with ability to solve complex problems and take brave decisions
  • Highly proficient in Project Management principles, methods, techniques and tools
  • Very strong financial management and budgetary control
  • Excellent written, presentational and communication skills
  • Strong supplier & people management skills.
  • Robust individual who has demonstrable ability to manage dependencies and articulate the context and impact of risk to a plan.
