Senior Design & Planning Engineer - a new permanent opportunity has arisen supporting the Senior Design Manager, acting as SME for all Radio Design and Planning. Working for a growing key Mobile Telecoms company based in Reading this is an excellent opportunity for someone to help drive forward RAN/RF designs in order to enhance network capabilities.

This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, bonus and car allowance.

As Senior Design & Planning Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring cell plans meet agreed design criteria and performance metrics
• Taking the lead on a number of technical forums (RF Planning & Tools Forum; Change Control Forum; Data Integrity Forum)
• Assessing alternative site options or solutions to deal with performance issues
• Support development of Planning tool reporting capabilities
• Maintain and develop RF planning guidelines
• Support the set up of planning tools
• Provide technical support to the legal team
• Ensure radio design and planning guidance and solutions deliver best value

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previously worked in a RAN Design & Planning Engineer position
• Technical knowledge of UK networks (3G,4G, RF Planning)
• From either MSP or Operator background
• Experience of either managing delivery from MSPs or experience interfacing with customer (operator)
• Experience using the following - Asset Radio Planning, Spectrum, CR tool
• Experience leading technical forums
• Knowledge of site acquisition and implementation processes
• Confident dealing with conflicting priorities from differing stakeholders
