SENCo required - September 2019 start

Project People are supporting a secondary school based in SW London, who recently have been rated as 'Outstanding' by OfSTED. The school are seeking to appoint an exceptional SENCo from September 2019. The successful person will be on the Leadership scale with SLT responsibilities for the right candidate.

The successful person will be an experienced and creative SENCo, tasked with developing an exceptional SEND provision by offering individualised education programmes, target setting and support for pupils with a range of educational needs. You will lead, develop and support effective practice for pupils with particular learning needs to ensure they are addressed in the most effective way, as well as being responsible for ensuring SEND pupils make rapid progress in line with the academy's expectations. This role offers the right individual an unparalleled opportunity to build their own setting in an ambitious and rapidly growing academy.

You will be a key member of the leadership team and school with a clear commitment to inclusion, coupled with a specialist unit for autism, state-of-the-art STEM provisioning. You will hold QTS and the National award for SENCo, with evidence of substantial and relevant CPD, ideally within Dyslexia, EAL and/or ASD. A passion for teaching and leading SEND, with high aspirations for all SEND pupils.

Being confident and effective with your communication and a collaborative approach to your role is key. Coupled with the use of data to secure excellent progress and outcomes and finally a sense of humour and can do attitude.

KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Extensive knowledge working with SEND Code of Practice
• Co-ordination and deliver of high quality interventions in the classroom setting
• Implementation of simple and effective monitoring systems to track the development and progress of SEND students
• Working effectively and liaising with mainstream staff to support their teaching of pupils with particular educational needs
• Building positive partnerships through effective engagement with external partners
• Supporting the professional development of colleagues through coaching and mentoring.
• Delivering high-quality training to other teachers.
• Experience of leading successful enrichment and extracurricular activities for SEND pupils, which inspire and motivate learners
