Revenue Assurance Specialist



We are looking for a professional Revenue Assurance Specialist to join our client's Head Offices at one of the leading Mobile Telecoms businesses. You'll be part of a vibrant, agile team at the forefront of Mobile Telecoms and IT Technology. The Revenue Assurance team aims provide to have high quality, automated controls over all of the business's UK revenues and costs of sale. The role of a Revenue Assurance Specialist will be ensuring that these new tools are delivered to the requirements that will aid the team's continuing success.

The Role:

  • Ensuring that the appropriate chargeable records are generated, metered correctly and appear correctly on end customer billing.
  • Acting as a Revenue Assurance Subject Matter Expert on projects / initiatives that could impact the end to end billing architecture or existing RA controls.
  • Performing regular reconciliation and analysis of revenue streams. Documenting revenue flows across critical functions and monitors the same.
  • Managing any issue that potentially impacts revenues, from identification through to quantification through to resolution.
  • Ensuring are new tools are in line with expectations. Work closely with the UAT team to help development test plans.
  • Working with the offshore partner teams to make sure deliverables are met.
  • Developing an understanding of internal and external customer needs and ensure all activities and excellent delivery of customer satisfaction.
  • Speaking to the business across Sales, Marketing, IT/Technology, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams
  • Measuring and tracking KPIs and outcomes against standards, while planning and taking corrective action where required.
  • Reducing Billing and Mediation suspense volumes using Plan-Do-Check-Adjust.

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of all facets of revenue assurance covering key principles related to controls for network components, IT systems, business processes, reconciliations, financial performance, and reporting.
  • UAT testing experience
  • An ability to liaise with the business on issues of business performance related to revenue assurance.
  • An inquisitive and analytical mind, i.e. be someone driven by "what if" scenarios that inform direction and decisions.
  • Experience of revenue assurance and troubleshooting.
  • A sound understanding of the technical infrastructure within a telecoms company, including network components, billing, mediation, CRM, and provisioning.
  • Experience of working under pressures to tight deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of tools to process and reconcile data, such as Excel pivot tables

Nice to Have:

  • Experience of industry fraud risks and issues that can arise from billing.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as SQL, SAS, Access and Business Objects
  • An understanding of the Regulatory environment related to billing, e.g. Ofcom Metering & Billing Direction.
