Job Description
Release Train Engineer - Contract - Berkshire
Release Train Engineer required on a contract basis for a leading telecommunications brand to lead Large Scale Planning development and execution.
This role will work closely with the Agile Coaches to prepare, carry out and facilitate the execution of the event and release.
Experience and knowledge
- Experienced as a Release Train Engineer
- Several years Scrum or/and Agile Coaching Programme experience
- Experience facilitating the Agile Release train processes and execution
- Strong understanding of scaled agile frameworks (SAFe, DAD, Nexus, LeSS)
- Experience interacting with stakeholders and managers at all levels
- Experience and confidence leading large planning / public events
Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of pre-event briefings for participating teams and stakeholders
- Lead on the event agenda. Liaising with stakeholders to ensure everyone is clear on who is doing what
- Feed into communications plans for before, during and after the events
- RTE / lead the large scale planning event, explain the goal, how the planning will work, facilitate programme board discussions, team breakout session, confidence votes and feedback exercises
- Develop documentation on LSP related activities to provide an up to date blueprint for the organisation
- Coach the Agile Release Train - facilitate the execution the plan
- Monitor the teams' progress to identify bottlenecks and target coaching
- Escalate any impediments, monitor risks and dependencies across multiple teams. Coach the correct behaviours and processes towards these in teams to ensure robust management and resolution across the programme.
- Ensure the planning event produces an integrated plan - work with teams to ensure delivery of value
- Drive continuous improvement of the event, testing assumptions and challenging practices / behaviours / current ways of working
