Programme Manager - Transformation

Job Purpose:

The role of the Programme Manager is to manage execution, milestones and dependencies between the IT Transformation and Network Transformation Programmes, taking accountability for delivering a plan that includes contractual obligations to SIs (System Integrators) and building and ensuring interlock between different programmes.

The key scope for the Programme Manager will incorporate:

  • Indirect matrix teams of 50+ people across external suppliers and internal resources for the duration of the programme, including Key resources (Programme Directors, IT and Network programme teams) allocated to the programme.
  • Working effectively with Prime System integrators and Domain System Integrator.
  • Management of programme budget within allocated scope
  • Key contacts will be senior representatives and project teams from both IT and Network transformation, multiple suppliers and key members of operational/business teams that are supporting the programme.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for leading the successful delivery of all key deliverables and dependencies between IT & Network Transformation to ensure IT transformation achieves it plan.
  • Accountable for working closely with PSI and DSI to ensure expectation alignments on all fronts leading to smooth delivery.
  • Accountable for ensuring effective governance has been set up to manage deliverables to time/cost/quality.
  • Accountable for allocated programme budget: ensuring that the programme has a realistic, accurate budget which is effectively tracked throughout the lifecycle of the programme.
  • Hold senior stakeholders to account as to their responsibility to the programme and timely and effective decision making.
  • Accountable for planning internal resources required at each stage of the programme. Ensuring there is a forward looking view that allows for sufficient lead time to attain key resources.

Experience Required:

  • Significant proven and demonstrable ability in delivering complex, IT and Networks programmes which delivered significant company-wide benefits and/or step changes in operational effectiveness, customer/employee satisfaction, business operating model etc.
  • Experience with delivering in a multi- supplier environment.
  • Highly customer-focused approach (both internal and external customers)
  • Proven track record of influencing at senior management/operating board -level within large organisations (1000+ staff), and of building and managing excellent business-wide relationships at all levels of an organisation.
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting sizeable teams (c.100+ staff) in a Technology-led or Technology-heavy organisation to deliver outcomes.
  • Proven ability to create virtual/direct teams of high-performing, highly engaged employees.
  • Experience of working with System Integrators
  • Experience in a commensurate role within a similar fast paced, consumer focused, technology led industry e.g. Telecoms, Technology, Retail, Financial Services
