What is the job?

The Principal Core Network Engineer will be a key member of the Core Network IP Engineering team and be responsible for Core Network IP Infrastructure & Solution design aspects of End-2-End services across both the UK and operations across Europe.

This will involve working on all aspects of the network including Core, PE, Transit and Ethernet domains where you will also help / influence other departments who work on edge components of the network in order to create clear network designs which the Operational teams will then support.

You will also act as the Tech Lead for various programmes of work, helping to shape and pull the different technical teams together to ensure a coherent solution is understood and translated to project teams and provide scopes of works for new infrastructure platforms.

Experience needed for the role

• Proven experience in a Service Providers network environment.
• Familiarisation with Juniper, Cisco and/or Nokia platforms and OS.
• JNCIP+ / CCNP+ / NRS-II+ accreditation beneficial.
• Experience gained within a large commercial environment.
• Deep understanding and experience of relevant technologies and systems.
