Press Officer (Consumer Background)

London (6 Month Contract)

The Company:

A global telecoms company are currently seeking an experienced Press Officer to join their team on an interim basis to focus on supporting the Head of PR to drive growth of the brand and leading on implementation of cutting edge integrated PR campaigns and events across the UK. The role will be based in North Greenwich (London).

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and delivering PR ideas, events, stunts and campaigns that make a tangible difference to the company's future success and drive share of voice in the UK
  • Executing the relevant strategy alongside the PR team to successfully build the company brand to number 1 position
  • Creating and delivering the regional press strategy
  • Work alongside the relevant marketing, brand and advertising teams to activate marketing/PR strategy that successfully develops the reputation and awareness of the company within consumer media, helping to grow overall share of voice
  • Execute the relevant PR plan campaigns from start to finish, including responsibility for planning, budgeting and implementation
  • Manage the PR agencies we work with to implement successful PR campaigns

Experience Required:

  • Consumer PR background is essential
  • Ability to lead on and implement integrated, 360 PR/comms campaigns - while this role sits within the PR team, we all work across digital, social, influencers, retail executions, sponsorship activation, events, partnerships, and even paid media at times
  • Minimum 6+ years' experience in similar roles and a good understanding of the tech/mobile sector
  • Experience in activating PR/comms campaigns for big brands + experience of running big budget, multi-faceted campaigns
  • Experience developing and delivering regional PR campaigns
  • Ability to be adaptable - be up for the challenge and someone who is at their best when working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Strong ability to identify, create and sell a story
  • Media-savvy and able to build relationships with key industry figures
