Job Description

An opportunity to join a growing and energetic brand as a Planning Manager, on a permanent basis. This role will ensure that the deployment of resources is optimised across all locations in order to deliver outstanding results in line with business goals.

Three key area of focus require the successful candidate to have a 12 month, 3 months and 1-2 weeks out view, with key areas/responsibilities including:

Overall Planning- ensure that overall capacity is capable of delivering and supporting expected volumes within the business plan. This will require:

  • Keeping on top of calendarised shrinkages
  • Establishing and reviewing booking activity transaction times, highlighting differences between programmes to assist with target setting
  • Define weekend capacity requirements for approval by departmental head
  • Ensure capacity planning is accurately balanced across the defined needs of regions

Ongoing Management- providing framework, guidance and support to ensure that existing capacity is being used to best effect:

  • Setting decision guidelines
  • Co-ordinating timing of product updates/supplier briefings/training across programmes to ensure the impact on capacity is carefully managed
  • Impact assessment and guidance to aid decision making by department heads on the impacts of proposed Marketing activity
  • Compilation of shrinkages, such as training/sickness, across all programmes, and reporting on these
  • Developing and delivering capacity utilisation reports covering best use of capacity and highlighting and changes needed
  • Maintaining a 3 month view of the future to provide departmental heads of trends/changes which require immediate attention

Impact on Process Improvement- Ensure best practice for utilising capacity is identified and the impact of changes are assessed before implementation

  • Measurement of changes in customer activity
  • Act as a key point of contact with Operations and IT for new change initiatives
  • Conduct analysis of capacity usage and provide actionable recommendations for future improvement
