Job Description

A New Code Lawyer is required by a pioneering Mobile Telecoms organisation.

The New Code Lawyer is a new key role within the business and will provide practical and commercially astute legal advice and support to the business as part of the new Electronic Communications Code Team on all aspects of the New Code acquisition and management of the property portfolio managed by the business. Helping to drive delivery of the key property and acquisition targets within the business and establishing an excellent and best in class estates management function.

The New Code Lawyer will work with the cross-departmental New Code Team and other stakeholders to deliver functional and company objectives in line with the company scorecard

To contribute and regularly review each element of the functional scorecard to ensure that it remains relevant to the business plan and on target.

The New Code Lawyer will provide a full legal service to the cross-departmental New Code Team and the business providing proactive legal advice and support on all aspects of New Code property portfolio and acquisition delivery to support the business in achieving its objectives.

The New Code Lawyer will proactively manage and control defined New Code legal/property projects providing end-to-end legal support and ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality. This might include managing (external) referencing services, the service of New Code notices, the completion of New Code agreements, preparing New Code sites to go to court, and the management of New Code sites in court to achieve New Code agreements. In addition to this, undertake critical negotiations with third party Site Providers and/or suppliers drafting occupational arrangements, in particular New Code agreements. Review and deliver improved templates to reflect changes in law or policy.

Candidates will have extensive property law experience (including Landlord and Tenant transactions) in a fast paced commercial environment and/or experience of working on high volume /transactional property deals. You will have professional qualification to practise English law (e.g. solicitor/FILEX)

Candidates will have strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be a team player with good organizational skills in addition strong commercial acumen with proven ability to deliver solution focused advice.
