Job Description

Mandarin speaking Facility Management Specialist

I am currently recruiting for a Mandarin-speaking Facility Management Specialist for our client's fantastic research and development office based in Cambridge. The ideal candidate should have professional work experience with facility management or come from office admin background with strong office management and logistic skills.

The candidate's purpose is to assure the effective functioning of a facility to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using the best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management and supervising and coordinating the work of contractors;
  • Investigating availability and suitability of options for new premises;
  • Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money;
  • Work closely with procurement and payment team. Understand the company internal process and meet internal financial requirements.
  • Planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives;
  • Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities;
  • Directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling;
  • Ensuring the building meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation;
  • Planning the best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organising current premises;
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies;
  • Coordinating and leading one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility;
  • Using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement;
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, facilities management, or a related field;
  • Professional relevant work experiences
  • Relevant professional qualifications (facilities management/Project Management or similar)
  • Building management; construction; surveying
  • Engineering and building services engineering;
  • Facilities management maintenance experience; familiarity with building upkeep
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English
