Project People are currently recruiting on behalf of a Global Telecommunications Company that is at the forefront of the mobile internet revolution with a network built for the Internet.

Scope

The Transport Team is responsible for delivering Strategy and High Level Architecture for Transport Networks, including areas such as IP and Security, Transmission, Microwave and Fixed Mobile Backhaul.

This role is critical in helping the team to produce an end to end IP strategy and architecture for our transformation programme.

The role will involve producing, updating and governing IP network architecture for the various UK transformation solutions, including but not limited to the following:

IP High Level Architecture and Migration Strategy for IT Transformation Network

• IP High Level Architectures for the Core Transformation Network
• IP High Level Architectures for the RAN transformation Network
• E2E Transport Architectural Principles

Responsibilities

Architecture

• Govern each transport design against the Transport HLA
• Update the Transport HLA where applicable
• Update the E2E architectural principles where applicable
• Govern the migration against the migration strategy

Core Transformation Technical Governance

• Govern each transport design against the Core Transformation contract and architectural principles
• Update the E2E architectural principles where applicable
• Gap analysis of transport go-live solution against the Core Transformation contract and architectural principles

RAN Transformation Technical Governance

• Govern each transport design against the RAN Transformation contract and architectural principles
• Update the migration strategy where applicable
• Alignment with delivery on the delivery story towards target architecture

Desired Skills & Experience

Must-have

Excellent overall understanding of IP within a service provider or IT enterprise environment.

Widespread knowledge of different IP vendor solutions and managed services.

Excellent knowledge and experience of fixed/mobile networks.

Ability to simplify analysis and present results clearly at all levels of the business - including at senior management team level.

Strategic and architectural knowledge of networking technologies such as:

• Vendor Management experience
• Datacentre Networking
• IP Networking
• Networking Services i.e. DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Load balancing, NAT, etc
• Software Defined Networking (SDN)
• Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) and IT Virtualisation

Nice-to-have

Industry certifications in IP networking

Public Cloud networks solution experience

Network Security knowledge
