Information Security Officer (Cyber Security) - Oxfordshire - initial 12 month Contract

Our client is looking for an experienced Information Security Officer to joint heir team in Oxfordshire.

Job Purpose:

The role is key in supporting and improving the ongoing cyber security strategy of our client, to ensure European GDPR regulations and requirements are met, and that the cyber security risks associated with our client are captured, assessed and controlled. Key responsibilities include:

To develop and lead a company-wide strategy and roadmap of operational improvement in order to facilitate our clients' compliance with impending GDPR requirements and the improvement of its data protection provisions.

The ISO will provide GDPR and data protection regulatory advice and guidance to the board, aid in assessing and categorising cyber risk within our clients business, and determine the appropriate schedule and timeframe of improvements, based on GDPR guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Record of engaging with emerging and forthcoming laws and technologies
• Experience in technical, legal or regulatory training and awareness raising initiatives.
• Significant experience in EU privacy laws, including the drafting of policies and technology provisions.
• Significant experience in IT operations, including the attainment of information security standard certifications, such as CISSP, and appropriate privacy seals/marks.
• Experience in information system auditing, risk assessments and implement solutions to mitigate risk.
• Demonstrated skills in communication to speak with a wide-ranging audience, from board of directors, to managers and IT staff.

Qualifications (one or more would be desirable):

• CIPP/E Certification - European data protection certification
• CIPT - Certificated Information Privacy Technologist;
• PC.DP Certification - The Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection
• CDPO - Data Protection Certified Data Protection Officer
• Certified EU GDPR Practitioner
