Job Description

Head of Logistics - Permanent - Mobile Telecoms - Berkshire

Head of Logistics required for Design, Planning & Deployment department which is responsible for the infrastructure deployed on Radio Access Network sites for mobile operators.

Role:

Lead and proactively manage logistics on behalf of the Director of DPD to ensure compliance with UK regulatory and statutory standards and achieve agreed business outcome, cost and performance targets.

Establish, own and continuously improve the strategies, systems, processes, controls and capabilities required to manage logistics on behalf of the company and the shareholders.

Own the production, agreement and execution of logistics plans to enable the deployment, operation, management and tracking of (radio) network infrastructure to the business outcomes and performance targets set by the company and shareholders.

Responsible for intensely managing the day-to-day performance of partners against contracted safety, time , cost and quality obligations. Undertaking bench-marking to track and compare the relative performance.

Work with the H&S team, implementing HS and Quality Management best practice.

Responsible, in conjunction with the Commercial Team, for the proactive management of partners against contracted safety, time, cost, quality and performance obligations.

CAPEX and OPEX forecasting, management of

Manage the performance of team, drive high performance by setting stretching and challenging objectives.

Manage employee relations

Be an active member of the Leadership Team

Essential Skills:

Significant experience of managing complex logistics and asset management operations - ideally within either mobile or fixed network telecoms. (construction, rail, highways, nuclear, energy also considered)

Significant experience of establishing, developing and leading a logistics function, managing retained resources and working with partners to delivery large and highly complex programmes of work safely to agreed time, cost and quality targets.

Detailed knowledge of the methodologies processes and capabilities required to provide complex logistics and asset management services using partners, contractors and retained teams.

Experience managing remotely located cross functional teams.

Extensive experience of motivating, monitoring and improving performance of Partners and contractors.

Strong experience of managing the natural tensions between customer, commercial and technical requirements.

Experience working in a joint venture organisation - nice to have
