Job Description

We are recruiting for a Head of People to join the Senior Management team at a well known telecommunications company to ensure that strategic and BAU activities across the People Team are managed and delivered appropriately.

As a member of the Leadership Team the Head of People Team is responsible for developing and delivering with the MD and leadership team the People agenda to deliver short term and long-term needs. Responsible for challenging the leadership team and wider business for developing our people and deliver the core business within headcount.

The Head of People Team has ultimate responsibility for ensuring the People Team deliver against the strategic and BAU work across all areas of the team.

Activities undertaken in this role

· Responsible for setting and creating the People agenda

· Define, build and grow the companies culture: driving high performance, engagement and delivery

· Manage and lead the people team to deliver the People agenda. Setting and sharing the vision, cascading information with the wider People Team to ensure everyone is working towards a common goal

· Develop the people policies, frameworks and processes to support the people agenda (ensuring) they are capable of being delivered by outsourced providers where necessary

· Support the business to manage headcount and resource plans for shared, unilateral and project work

· Business partner to the extended leadership team - understand and input to the business goals and challenges; identify business and HR opportunities to support these, agree and deliver a plan

· Identify and develop leadership within the organisation. Create and manage frameworks that support identification and development of our talent and future leaders

· Create and deliver the training strategy. Develop, support and coach the staff to shine

· Lead, create and embed processes and frameworks that support our culture - such as (but not limited to) recruitment, talent management, succession planning, performance management, reward and recognition, engagement, staff social events and our office space

· Manage employee relations issues as they arise or proactively prevent them from occurring
