Electrical Design Engineer Specialist

Main Responsibilities:

Technical support role for my client in the field of site design, with a specific focus on Electrical. Receives pre-defined work tasks from engineering managers which are to be completed within given time scales.

Responsible and authorized to make design based decisions.

To analyse current solutions innovate, improve & develop new products accordingly. Ensures compliance in installation quality and acceptable performance of network sites. This is to govern that all solutions deployed into the network are fit for purpose and requirements for installation and maintenance area clearly defined and accepted by the business.

To support and contribute actively to health and safety, environmental, business continuity and information security arrangements that meets our obligations to our customers

Manage and plan individual work tasks as instructed

A customer facing role. Responsible for engaging with all stakeholders and stakeholder groups who are connected to the design function, up to company director level. This will range from answering site specific queries, communicating with manufacturers & design suppliers.

To proactively identify and record all design and H&S risks, issues and dependencies escalating to those that require senior escalation to ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion and risk are highlighted appropriately

To identify changes in design and escalate for review to site design engineering manager within Engineering Team.

Act as a support reference point for all site design queries related to the roles particular field and ensure the clear communication of design & standards information is issued to all relevant parties (internal/external deployment managers and external design managers)

2-3 years' work experience within the Engineering field

Experience of undertaking electrical inspections and tests, plus reviewing BS7671 compliant designs and certificates

Bachelor (Honours); Engineering qualification in Civil, Structural or Electrical engineering

Electrical knowledge with understanding of BS7671 essential

Basic knowledge of Telecomms Infrastructure and ADC suppliers

Flexibility with ability to attend sites

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office

Excellent communication skills

Experience working in site design team/telecoms design team in the UK.

Experience working in supplier/manufacturer design team.

Master's Degree in Engineering,

In-depth knowledge of Telecoms and Telecoms infrastructure.
