Director of Strategy and Architecture - Berkshire - Contract

We are looking for an experienced Director Strategy and Architecture specialist to join our clients team in Berkshire.

Job Purpose:

• Design and implement the Strategy & Architecture centre of excellence within the Technology & Operations function using the agreed framework and within agreed timescales across all elements of the operating model.
• Lead a cross functional team to support the design and implementation activities, engaging with key stakeholders on progress on a regular basis.
• Engage the Architecture team in the creation of the CoE ensuring the teams are involved and engaged during the process.
• Drive the maintenance of core stability and momentum on transformation programmes within the Architecture teams.

Responsibilities:

Recommendations

Engages with a variety of senior stakeholders across the business to understand their long-term strategic challenges and recommend integrated long-term solutions and strategies to support the execution of the wider business strategy.

Product & Solutions Development

Leads the development and delivery of a major part of the organization's product and solution development program in order to enable the execution of the wider business strategy and to support the achievement of business outcomes.

Strategic Planning

Develops and delivers the strategic plan for strategy and architecture by working with senior stakeholders across the business, whilst contributing to the definition of the COO strategy and ensuring alignment with the wider business strategy in order to drive the achievement of business outcomes.

Solutions Analysis

Develops integrated strategies and solutions to long-term business needs to support the execution of business strategy by anticipating complex issues, challenges and opportunities.

Performance Management

Leads the implementation of the performance management culture for the strategy and architecture team in order to build capability and support ongoing professional development.

Operational Planning

Develops and delivers operational plans, ensures the operational efficiency of the strategy and architecture team, and provides technical input to the work of the function in order to deliver maximum value to the business.

Stakeholder Management

Develops and maintains effective working relationships with strategic internal customers whilst using large support teams to ensure their satisfaction and alignment with the business plan and operating model. Creates awareness of strategy and architecture objectives and aspirations, and participates in cross-functional initiatives whilst ensuring the needs of a variety of stakeholders are recognised.

Budgeting

Responsible for the planning, forecasting and management of budget and for optimising resources within that to deliver maximum return on investment.

Senior Management

Acts as a key member of organisations leadership community, role models company behaviours and contributes to the achievement of the wider business strategy, providing inspirational leadership, clear direction and line management to a large team in order to ensure the delivery of quality solutions that add value to the business.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of providing strategic direction to a strategy and architecture team.
• Demonstrable track record of engaging with and influencing senior business leaders, and evidence of building and maintaining cross-functional relationships.
• Experience of planning, managing and organising resources, and leading and building capabilities across a varied team.
• Extensive experience of strategy development in a strategy and architecture environment.
