Job Description

Role purpose:

  • Accountable for the successful programme management of the Contract negotiation.
  • supplies approximately one third of the site property estate and the contract with them expires at the end of 2019. Renegotiation of this contract is difficult and complex given their dominant position and will require a multi pronged approach.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the successful programme management of all aspects of the negotiation strategy and delivery.
  • Key responsibilities andaccountabilities are as follows:
    • Provide all Project product deliverables as necessary eg Project Definition Document, time plans.
    • Proactively and effectively manage the realtionships with all stakeholders including MD, FD, Property Director, Shareholders.
    • Managing the day-to-day programme tasks
    • Dynamically manages the resources availability and maximises outcomes.

Key Challenges:

  • Managing inherent complexity and commercial challenge in an effective and structured way.
  • Ensuring all stakeholders are taken to the journey and are happy. with the approach and outcomes.
  • Managing the programme under the challenging timelines.
  • Building effective relationships across the, Shareholder and Supplier organisations to deliver objectives, enable open and honest exchanges and foster trust and respect.

Key Relationships:

Within the organisation:

Level - FD, MD and property director and Commercial Lead

Nature - Strategic, Influencing and Informative.

Purpose - Manage key stakeholders

Across Shareholder organisations:

Level - Senior commercial and board level stakeholders.

Nature - Strategic, Facilitative, Influencing and Negotiating.

Purpose - Manage key shareholder stakeholders

External supplier:

Level - Commerical and tehncial lead and up to CEO

Nature - Strategic, Facilitative, Influencing and Negotiating.

Purpose - Achieving project outcomes.


  • Managing RFP/RFI process.
  • Understanding of working in a technical environment.
  • Small works contracts.
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of managing large scale sourcing and/or strategic programmes with multiple stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Programme management methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the UK telecoms programme delivery eco-system, including the factors that constrain, enables and enhances the capability of individual suppliers and the eco-system as a whole.
  • Extensive experience of motivating and managing multiple and varied stakeholders
  • Experience of managing the natural tensions between customer, commercial and technical requirements
