Job Description
A fantastic opportunity to join a leading brand in Oxfordshire on a permanent basis, as a Commercial Finance Basis. Working under the Head of Commercial Finance, this position requires a strong Finance Analyst with great data analysis skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering with Sales teams:
- Daily tracking and reporting of underlying drivers of sales performance
- Measure sales team performance and productivity- identifying key areas of risk and opportunity as well as reviewing sales ta gets, commissions and bonus
- Financial assessment of booking integrity and service quality
- Management of internal resource planning tool to advise on sales team availability, absence, capacity in order to influence key hiring decisions
- Develop tools to improve sales forecasting and planning process, as well as aid delivery of consistent accuracy in predicting performance
- Deliver insightful analysis of the P&L through real-time, short-term timely reporting and business unit reviews
- Improve the understanding of trends, risks and opportunities across the business
- Provide insightful commentary to key stakeholders on business performance, including regular stakeholder reporting both internally and externally
Business Intelligence and Data Analytics:
- Enhance current reporting offering towards a market leading intelligence function, through detailed review of data structures/sources and use of BI tools such as Tableau
- Collaborate with Marketing and IT departments to ensure consistency of cross-functional KPIs and data-driven conclusions
- Draw meaningful insights and ideas from large data sets in order to support and improve business performance
- Advocate analytics and develop strong understanding of the business to make sure that analysis is embedded in everyday decision making
- Strong understanding of Microsoft products to support strategic and commercial decision support i.e. analysis and modelling
Key Skills/Requirements:
- Advanced Excel skills essential
- Ability to use a variety of data sources including the use of SQL, PowerPivot, Query and OLAP/Cube formulae
- Knowledge of data structures and how to utilise/interrogate them
- Ability to present ideas with clarity and convey complex financial information in an appropriate manner
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to business partner and influence decision making
- A dynamic team player who can bring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
