Business / System Application Consultant - Telford, Shrophsire - Contract.

A global IT services company is searching for a Business / System Application Consultant to join their team on client site in Telford.

Candidates will need to have a strong understanding of Hybrid IT Transformation.

The Business / System Application Consultant will be a key resource in the client-facing Hybrid IT Transformation delivery team responsible for the analysis of a client environment to help determine which business systems are present, identify them correctly, so that they can be moved safely (in groups) into a Hybrid IT end-state.

Role:

• To correctly identify the transactionally interdependent Business Systems, with the use of manual interviews, client document reviews and, most importantly, on the back of the output of the automated Device 42 tool.
• Finding the Operational Owners of the identified Business Systems so as to determine all aspects of information relevant to moving / transforming such systems.
• Help to correctly identify all the data sources that the business system is dependent upon.
• Verification of the business systems and their boundaries with the broader client IT environment.
• Providing architectural, know-how and technical knowledge.
• Setting technical leadership and direction in the team for all aspects relating to good business system / application support during a transformation / migration activity, so as to ensure that the migration plan, that you will co-author runs at the lowest risk and the lowest cost.
• Demonstrating exceptional command of risk management in business system related operational transformation, to ensure that risks are all correctly identified and mitigated.
• Taking responsibility for the safe transformation of the client's business systems.

Skills and Experience Required:

• A deep and hands-on understanding of Hybrid IT Transformation.
• Proven Technical Leadership / Lead Application or better yet, Business Systems Architect Experience in running, improving and further developing such systems (ideally in a DevOps setup) .
• Strong experience and a proven track record of real-life, hands-on experience in Business Systems Migration, Integration & Transformation.
• Hands-on experience delivering planning for the transformation from DC to Hybrid IT / multi-cloud based services.
• Proven ability to manage system development throughout its entire lifecycle, with particular emphasis on systems with intuitive user interfaces.
• Deep Knowledge of Data Manipulation for transformation purposes, down to practical experience of using only basic tools such as MS Excel
