BIG DATA ARCHITECT - STRATEGY

Role Summary

We are looking for a big data architect who is able to look at the current tech/data landscape and understand how a major IT & Telecoms client should be able to migrate/transform from existing legacy structures of enterprise information - to future state data architecture. You should be able to draw on real-life experience and demonstrate real use-case examples.

Looking for candidates with experience from companies who have very large data-sets/process millions of customer transactions per day (data analytics / retail / banking etc).

Will be liaising with Director-level stakeholders so must be comfortable communicating at this level.

Technology-wise - Azure, Hadoop, Oracle Cloud, Python, Hive.

Day-to-day role will involve assessing current architecture and strategy to help form principles and processes across 18 months, 3 years, 5 year roadmaps.

Required skills / responsibilities

• Previous experience working in an Enterprise Architecture or multi-domain, or single domain architecture environment or an end to end solution design role.
• Demonstrable knowledge and proficiency of architecture tools and approaches.
• Certification TOGAF, DAMA CDMP or relevant experience with these frameworks
• Defines data architecture strategies, policies, patterns and provides architectural direction.
• Architects the technical platform strategy for enterprise consumer data initiatives and supports business teams (e.g. Digital) in defining Big Data architecture strategies.
• Proven leadership and direction in a big data / enterprise architecture role
• Excellent stakeholder management and presenting skills - ability to influence peers and seniors alike.
• Specific experience in a major change/transformation programme(s) involving big data / enterprise architecture
