Pre-sales / Solution / Bid / Manager / IT Services / Proposal / RFI / Sales

Bid Manager opportunity is available reporting to the Head of Presales for the Ireland geography. The Bid Manager will work closely with the Sales and Account Management Teams and the Solution/ Presales teams to formulate winning proposals in terms of both price and solution for customers.

Responsibilities

The Bid Manager will view and interpret customer's requirements in conjunction with Sales and Account Management to ensure the win strategy, win themes, basis for qualification and competitive analysis are appropriate for the type / size of opportunity. This will include managing the bid process from start to finish from capture throughout the opportunity lifecycle, across our complete portfolio of offerings and services

The successful incumbent will work with the Sales and Account Management Team to ensure that the customer's proposed solution is at the right price i.e. properly benchmarked, appropriate to market conditions and justified in the mind of the customer. Ultimately the Bid Manager is responsible for ensuring that winning bids are submitted on time and in accordance with company guidelines including the formal review of bid deliverables. This role is collaborative in nature so you must be able to work in conjunction with others towards shared outcomes.

Accountabilities:

  • Guiding and managing the development of major solution proposals from RFI/RFT through proposal and presentation
  • Expertise in bid document management, bid team management and in direct contribution of text to proposal documents / presentations
  • Liaises with Resource Management to ensure the most appropriate resources are made available for bid activity, manage the quality of the resources and ensure good value for money and a quality output
  • Owner of the risk register
  • Review and proof inputs from contributors to ensure quality (of presentation and of content) is maintained as bid content is developed. Ensure that the agreed customer proposition and key sales messages are central to the completed proposal/presentation
  • Tenacious in ensuring that external solution partners and internal contributors perform as required and agreed
  • Guiding and managing the development of major solution proposals from RFI/RFT through to win

Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in a similar Bid Manager position
  • Experience managing a large bids or bid teams
  • Able to demonstrate experience on winning bids in the role of Bid Manager
  • Be a good communicator
  • Able to lead, enthuse and motivate a matrix team of solution, financial, commercial and legal contributors in achieving the bid win.
  • Experience in IT Services industry
  • Ability to be able to work at all levels of the organisation to achieve a result
  • Excellent organisational skills
