Application Support Engineer - SQL - Unix - AWS - Dublin

Are you an experienced Applications Support Engineer with excellent problem solving skills together with a strong understanding of SQL and Shell scripting on Unix/ Linux platforms? As the Applications Support Engineer you will be joining an exciting team of like-minded problem solvers able to perform in a varied and complex environments thus ensuring ongoing support for arrange of Java based applications on Unix and AWS platforms.

To be successful you will ideally have the following background:

• 5+ years working experience in IT
• Excellent SQL skills
• Strong understanding and knowledge of Unix and scripting
• Excellent understanding of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Excellent understanding of applications support
• Experience in using an application monitoring solution, e.g. Nagios.
• Self-motivating and able to prioritize tasks

Exposure to any of the following would be also be beneficial although not essential:

• Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, Wildfly, Linux, AWS, Weblogic, Apache, Business Intelligence and ETL is an advantage
• Experience of mobile telecommunications industry
• Understanding of XML-based web service protocols, e.g. SOAP.
• Development and testing experience is also an advantage
