Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and growing telecoms company in Reading, in brand new state of the art offices in a central location, as an Accounts Payable Clerk. This role will provide you with the chance to develop your AP kills within a skilled team, and will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Registering supplier invoices accurately within the accounting system, following a three way match process
  • Raising sales invoices in accordance with approved invoices requested by the business, and performing cash receipt from customers against open invoices
  • Performing debt collection enquiries in a professional and timely manner and ensure that aged debt is recovered
  • Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling supplier statements and related transactions
  • Resolving supplier and customer queries
  • Completing month end balance sheet reconciliations in AP and AR, resolving any issues found
  • Producing monthly reports and assisting with month end closing
  • Supporting internal and external audit activities by retrieving the required evidence
  • Providing ad hoc support when to the Finance team when necessary

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Experience with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of finance systems
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
