The GSMA Global People Initiative Award

GSMA Awards have, to date, served to celebrate the highest achievements across an industry that has achieved so much over 20 years. The categories for 2008 have been specially designed to recognise the wealth of ingenuity and creativity from all corners of the mobile industry’s global eco-system that contribute to the continued success and growth of the mobile world.

As part of the GSMA Mobile Innovation Awards, a new category of award has been introduced:

Enabling Innovation through Human Capital & Talent Practices

This new Award, sponsored by the GSMA’s recruitment partner Project People, acknowledges the strategic People & HR issues affecting our industry, recognises the creativity and innovation they support and further assists the mobile industry in becoming 'the employer of choice for the world's best talent.

The Award was presented to Sami Jarrar, Director of HR & Corporate Affairs, Umniah Mobile of Jordan, on Tuesday 12th February 2008 at the GSMA Global People Initiative HR Strategy Event at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, by the Managing Director of Project People.
